        JUNEAU — The Legislature on Thursday passed a bill aimed at protecting 
and restoring Alaska Native languages, which are on the decline and in 
some instances nearing extinction.<br><br>The bill, which is headed to 
the governor’s desk, establishes the Alaska Native Language Preservation
 and Advisory Council, a collection of language experts who would
