<font><font face="georgia,serif">8/22/2012 6:00:00 AM<br>US<br><br><b>Tribe awarded grant for language preservation</b><br><br>The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has been awarded a Native American Language Preservation and Maintenance grant from the Administration for Native Americans.<br>
<br>The $300,000 grant will be used for the implementation of the Chahta Annopa Isht Aya project to train and certify Choctaw language instructors and produce language learning materials for teaching Choctaw language learning standards.<br>
