<font><font face="georgia,serif">Friday, September 7, 2012<br><br>We got some twang, y’all: UNT professors, students research Texas accents<br><br>by Marlene Gonzalez of North Texas Daily<br><br>DENTON — People outside of Texas may think all Texans sound the same, but linguistics professor Patricia Cukor-Avila and three students conducted a research project showing that Texans think otherwise.<br>
<br>Their research was presented at the Symposium About Language and Society-Austin Conference in April and will be published in the conference’s academic papers this fall. The research was also introduced at the Congress of the International Society for Dialectology and Geolinguistics in Vienna in July.<br>
