<b><font size="4">UAF Awarded $1.9 Million for Linguistics Program</font></b><br><br>By Jessica Ridgway, Channel 2 News<br>8:00 a.m. AKST, December 19, 2012<br><br>FAIRBANKS, Alaska—<br><br>The University of Alaska Fairbanks garnered $1.9 million from the U.S. Department of Education for their linguistics program.<br>
<br>The awarded money will fund a projected three-year program that aims to improve educational outcomes for Alaska Native students in grades K-12 by providing graduate education for teachers and computer-assisted language learning (CALL) programs.<br>
