In that case wouldn't the Old Welsh (or Cumbric?) form be something like
<Din Etguin> rather than <Din Eidyn>?  There's also an Old Irish <Etin>,
I believe.  I don't think that you get forms like <Edwinesburch> and
<Edwinesburgensis> until the early 12th c. or so.
