Hi Anton. Colin Masica "The Indo-Aryan Languages" Cambridge Language
Surveys 1991 is excellent and not too expensive - my copy was GBpounds
12-50.

According to Masica, the languages of Bombay include:
(a) Urdu, and its southern form Dakhini (both spoken by urban Muslims)
(b) Marathi (The main language of the whole surrounding area)
(c) The groups of dialects clumped together as "Bhili". (This is found
north of Bombay, extending around the Gujarati area to southern Rajasthan).

Bombay being what it is, no doubt there are others!

Peter
