-- "miw" is about as onomatopoeic as "kuku" for Cuckoo.  Therefore it's
pretty well impossible to trace loans or their direction.  Given that the
Egyptians domesticated the cat and that it spread from there, I'd bet on the
Egyptians being the ones who invented the word, though.
