Belgian friend. I join him and I am sure most of you in expressing my
regret at the passing of this gentlemanly scholar, one of the finest
comparativists of his generation.

Une grande figure du comparatisme indo-européen vient de disparaître.
Edgar Polomé est décédé avant-hier, le 11 mars.

D'origine belge, Edgar Polomé enseignait à l'Université du Texas
(Austin).  Il était, entre autres, l'éditeur du Journal of Indo-European
Studies.
