Discourse Processes is a multidisciplinary journal that investigates all
aspects of discourse -- be it prose comprehension and memory, conversation
analysis, text grammars, computer simulation of conversational agents,
tutorial dialogue, or cross-cultural comparisons of communication patterns.
Articles in this journal develop theories of discourse processing and test
the theories by collecting diverse forms of empirical data. We welcome
articles from discourse psychology, cognitive science, conversation analysis,
anthropology, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, text linguistics,
education, educational technology, computational linguistics, artificial
intelligence, and human-computer interaction. The editor of the journal is
Art Graesser and the threee associate editors are Susan Brennan, Susan
Goldman, and Michael Schober. The editorial board is currently attempting to
broaden the scope of articles in this journal, which traditionally has been
dominated by discourse psychology. FIve copies of the manuscript should be
submitted to Art Graesser, Department of Psychology, University of Memphis,
