Dear all, I'm not sure why my comments vis-a-vis "If you be good" were not jumped upon by all and sundry. I've been waiting. In my dialect it's a bad sentence but, of course, there are dialects in which it is perfectly acceptable. Perhaps there is little interest in this question.
