children's word choice in highly similar recurring situations

Hello everyone,

I am working on my dissertation and am looking for research that investigates young children's choice of words across time in the context of highly similar situations -- for example requesting help opening a particular toy or pretending to feed a doll.  If anyone knows of research on this topic please let me know.  Thanks.
