THE NATURE AND DEVELOPMENT OF L2 FRENCH

7th & 8th July 2008 - University of Southampton, U.K.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Jean-Marc Dewaele, Birkbeck College
Florence Myles, Newcastle University

The conference aims to bring together researchers interested in the
study of French as a second language. The programme will include paper
presentations by participants on any aspect relating to the nature and
development of French as a second language. The conference will also
propose a hands-on CHILDES training workshop especially designed for
those using or interested in using the program and its tools to
analyse second language learners data (in particular French).
This two-day conference is organised by the FLLOC research team. FLLOC
is the outcome of a series of research projects  based at the
Universities of Southampton and Newcastle aiming at collecting oral
corpora of learners of French and at answering theoretical questions
about the nature of learner language.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Proposals for papers on any aspect of the nature and development of
French as an L2 are invited. Individual papers will be 30 minutes (20
minutes for presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion).
Submissions for papers should include the following:

1. Title of the paper,
2. Name and affiliation of the author(s),
3. Abstract of 300 words maximum (excluding references and the title),
4. First author's postal address,
5. First author's e-mail address.

All submissions will be confirmed by e-mail. Please send all

- Notification of acceptance:                    	end of March 2008
