Deaf children's theory of mind abilities

A new study that focuses on the early communication between adults and children which involves conversation about the mind and mental states of others (theory of mind). The researchers are interested in what kind of early communication occurs in families with deaf children which leads children to develop theory of mind later in development (c.f. research by Elizabeth Meins).

We are looking to hire a research assistant with experience of deafness, sign language and cognitive development. The project involves both observational and experimental data collection and is part of the DCAL (Deafness, Cognition and Language) research project based at UCL and City University London.

The research is lead by Gary Morgan (City University) in collaboration with colleagues at Birkbeck College London, University of Sheffield, Trieste and Gothenburg. For more details please see the vacancies page of City University London
