wireless microphone overseas

Hi everyone,

I wonder if any of you have ever bought a wireless microphone in the
US and brought it overseas for recording.  I just sent a student
to Korea with to wireless microphones, but then I
got an email from my salesperson at Full Compass which stated:

"cannot take wireless oversees....customs will most likely not allow 
it.....you will have to obtain a wireless unit there if needed........
every country is different but wireless is 99% of the time banned or 
regulated to a point that you can't use it....."

Have any of you had experience with this?
