APPLICATION DEADLINE yearly Feb. 1, June 1 and Oct. 1
To obtain admission information/download or apply online visit our

and go to item V, Ph.D. Program

This Ph.D. program has a decades long history of educating leaders in
the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology. The impacts of
these graduates have been felt in both scientific and clinical fields
related to language development, child phonology, early education,
technology development in speech and hearing, hearing sciences,
hearing aid technology as well as assessment and treatment in speech,
language and hearing. The goal of the program is to prepare such
leaders in science and related clinical practices.

The Ph.D. program has an academic and research (both basic and
applied) focus, and graduates typically go on to careers in University
research and teaching. Students in the program are not required to
have or to pursue clinical certification. Still, clinical
certification in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology from the
American Speech- Language-Hearing Association is typically obtained by
students prior to applying to the Ph.D. program. In addition,
individual programs of study have accommodated clinical training
concurrent with the academic program.

Funding sources involve a variety of options, including University
graduate assistantships, grants, and fellowships. These sources are
accompanied by remission of fees and tuition.
