Reinterpreting one sequence as different phonemes in native vs. loanwords

Hello,

I am not a psycholinguist but was recommended to ask my question in
this list. The question is:

Is it common knowledge (in psycholinguistics), or has it at least
already been described, that the same phonetic sequence can be
interpreted as different sequences of phonemes depending on whether
the word is perceived as native or a loanword?

Thank you in advance for any information!
