                The doctoral program in Developmental Science is designed to train the next generation of developmental psychologists.  Our goal is to prepare students to conduct studies that advance knowledge in the field, with an emphasis on early childhood.  The program represents the breadth of the discipline, offering research opportunity across different developmental domains using multiple methodologies.  Coursework and research training focus on the following core themes:

*         Continuity and change

*         Developmental domains - cognition, language, social-emotional development

*         Context of development - genetics, neurobiology, family, culture

*         Development in typical and atypical children
Financial Support:  Students typically receive funding from a variety of sources including program and university scholarships, graduate teaching assistantships, faculty grant support or other fellowships awards
