*Postgraduate Workshop on Methods for Studying Infant Communication and 
Child Language - University of Sheffield, U.K. - Tuesday the 17th 
January 2012. *
This workshop  will provide a _basic _introduction to the following 
systems and software packages, which are useful for the study of 
naturalistic communication:
*LENA* (for recording and automatic analysis of speech)

*ELAN* (for video coding) http://www.lat-mpi.eu/tools/elan/
*CHAT & CLAN* (for transcribing and analysing speech on the CHILDES 
system) http://childes.psy.cmu.edu/

Location: Department of Psychology (Ground Floor Computer Lab), 
University of Sheffield, Western Bank, Sheffield, S10 2TP, UK
Time: 2-5pm Tuesday the 17th January 2012
Demonstrators: Danielle Matthews, Ana Carmiol, Michelle McGillion

The seminar is supported by The British Academy Latin America Link 
Programme and there will be no registration cost. You just need to bring 
*headphones *with you.
There are a limited number of places available. If you would be
