<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">On 7th-9th November 2006, EMLAR III will take place!</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS will hold its third workshop on the</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">issue of Experimental Methods in Language Acquisition Research (EMLAR III).</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">This workshop, which is part of the Netherlands Graduate School of</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Linguistics (LOT) graduate programme, aims to provide PhD and MA students</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">with the opportunity to learn more about the different methods used in the</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">field of (first and second) language acquisition research. The programme</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">will consist of a series of lectures (each on a different method), and</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">several more hands-on sessions on more practical aspects of language</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">acquisition research. Each session addresses issues such as: subject</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">selection, rationale behind a given method, practicalities involved in the</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">actual execution of the experiment, advantages and disadvantages of a given</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">method and do's and don't's. </FONT>
