Those of you who are involved in the process of language test development and/or adaptation (both theory and practice) know that one important step in language test construction is how the researcher defines (in correspondence with the purpose of the test) the test construct, e.g., “language proficiency”, “communicative competence” (e.g., Haynes; Canale & Swain; Bachman) or “language comprehension”?<o:p></o:p></span></div> <div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> <o:p></o:p></span></div> <div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">My test targets language comprehension in deaf children 4-8 years old.
