interested in the linguistic development of children exposed to two or more
languages in childhood. The conference features (i) 4 keynote speeches by
Johanne Paradis (University of Alberta), William O'Grady (University of
Hawai'i), Yasuhiro Shirai (University of Pittsburgh) and Brian MacWhinney
(Carnegie Mellon University); (ii) a special workshop on "Methods for
automatic computational analysis of data on bilingual acquisition" organized
by Brian MacWhinney (Carnegie Mellon University); (iii) a special panel on
"Childhood multilingualism: international perspectives" which
features five talks given by Johanne Paradis, Annick De Houwer, Shyamala Chengappa,
Madalena Cruz-Ferreira, Bee Chin Ng and Virginia Yip, who will share their
expertise and perspectives on issues related to how children become bilingual
and multilingual in different parts of the world including Canada, Europe,
India, Singapore and Hong Kong; and (iv) 29 talks on various topics by
researchers from different parts of the world.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
