Next, you can find out if the problem is your connection speed by going into QuickTime and in the QuickTime Preferences under the Streaming tab, set you connection speed to 56 kbps Modem. This will force the server to play MP3 audio instead of video. If the transcript then plays OK with audio, you can conclude that your connection is too slow to support video playback. The only catch is that, to play back the media, your browser <br>has to be Firefox and you have to have JavaScript enabled. However, <br>if you can use Firefox on a broadband connection, then I think you <br>will find this facility really great. To try it out, just go to <a href="http://childes.psy.cmu.edu/">http://childes.psy.cmu.edu</a><br> and click on the second link on the right called Browser Access. <br>The browser plug-in will start up and you will get instructions on how <br>to proceed. On the left you will see some navigation folders. Let's <br>say you pick Biling, then YipMatthews, then AliciaEng and then any one <br>of the transcripts.
