The period of appointment is three years.<br><br>CASTL is a Norwegian Center of Excellence funded by the Research Council of<br>Norway and the University of Tromsų The core scientific group of the<br>center currently consists of 6 senior researchers, 6<br>researchers/post-doctoral research fellows and 17 PhD students. There are<br>several other researchers and PhD students at the University of Tromsų who<br>are connected to CASTL as affiliates, so that the CASTL community today<br>consists of about 50 people. The research group in acquisition currently<br>includes a full-time professor, two part-time professors, and three<br>post-doctoral research fellows.<br><br>CASTL's primary research activity is within generative grammar with a focus<br>on syntax, phonology, and language acquisition. The successful applicant<br>will be working in the area of language acquisition in collaboration with<br>other members of the acquisition group at CASTL and the University of<br>Tromsų. Research projects may be proposed both within mono- and bilingual<br>language acquisition as well as second language acquisition in children.<br>Applications whose research interacts closely with the ongoing language<br>acquisition projects at CASTL will be preferred. We are seeking<br>a person who is willing to engage himself/herself in the ongoing<br>development of his/her discipline and the university as a whole. Experience<br>in experimental works, teaching, and/or supervising students are plus.<br>While this is not a teaching position, involvement in - and at times<br>responsibility for - research seminars will be expected. <br><br>Applications will be assessed by an expert committee.
