The core scientific group of the<br>center currently consists of 6 senior researchers, 6 post docs/researchers<br>and 17 PhD students.<br><br>CASTL's primary research activity is within generative grammar with a focus<br>on syntax, phonology, and language acquisition. CASTL also runs a Graduate<br>School in theoretical linguistics. Individuals hired in the two advertized<br>research fellowships are expected to follow the program of the Graduate<br>School and to complete a doctoral dissertation. The PhD study is standardized to<br>three years. The fourth year consists of teaching or other duties for the<br>university, organized according to a distribution formula of 25 % per year.<br><br>The successful applicants will have to document qualifications in<br>linguistics at the Master's level. Applicants will be assessed by an expert<br>committee. The main emphasis of the assessment will be on the applicant's<br>potential for research, as evident from: Master's thesis or equivalent,<br>other scholarly works and project description.
