So, parents need to look at one CDI for each language. If there were one universal list, one could mark off words known in either language.</div><div><br></div><div>But even then, we would bump into the second issue implied by your question: there are no norms (to my knowledge) for bilingual children.</div><div><br></div><div>The closest I know is the kind of exercise my colleagues and I did a while back and that has been done by others since, which is to make a careful mapping (not so easy!) of two CDIs, so one can tell when a child knows a word, and when she or he knows it in one or two languages.
