Linguistics, Portland State University, invites applications for a full-time
tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The department offers
an undergraduate major and minor in applied linguistics, a one-year TESL certificate,
and an MA in TESOL; a proposal for a PhD in Applied Linguistics is under
discussion. The department is also home to the Intensive English Language
Program, one of the largest and oldest academic English programs on the West
coast, and houses the Literacy, Language & Technology Research (LLTR)
group.</font></span></p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font>

applied linguist with expertise in language education and one or more of the
following: intercultural communication, corpus linguistics, or grammar (from a
grammar-in-use or functional perspective). We seek someone who is committed to
the development of pre-service language educators and enthusiastic about
supervising MA-level teaching-related projects and theses.<span>  </span>Candidates should have experience teaching a second
or foreign language (preferably English).<span> 
</span>They should also have experience with the use of technology in language
