The conference attempts to bring together researchers
interested in the areas of Spanish semantics and
pragmatics to discuss the foundations of these
disciplines, potential points of interaction/divergence,
empirical analyses of Spanish, and contrastive issues with
respect to other Iberian/Romance languages. The conference
is essentially interdisciplinary (formal and applied
presentations are invited).

Some of the topics to be considered are the following:

    (i) Current theoretical trends and their
    applications to Spanish: Relevance Theory,
    Discourse Representation Theory, Dynamic
    Semantics, Generalized Quantifiers, Cognitive
    Semantics, etc.
(ii) Interfaces with other linguistic components:
    syntax, phonology (intonation), etc.
(iii) The analysis of discourse markers
    (iv) Clauses in discourse
    (v) Negation, quantification, mood
    (vi) Declaratives and non-declaratives

                         Abstracts
Abstracts are invited for 20 min. presentations
(followed by 10 min discussion) The deadline for
