         CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: I MEETING ON SPEECH TECHNOLOGY
                  Seville (Spain), 6-10 November 2000

    The 1st Meeting on Speech Technology 2000 will be held in Sevilla,
Spain, from the 6th to the 10th of November. The meeting is open to
researchers and students interested in the study of speech from a
multidisciplinar perspective: engineering, computer science, psychology,
linguistics. The majority of Spanish research groups in the field are
present in this event. The meeting has been organized by the University
of Seville and the University of Granada.

    Activities are divided into lectures and presentations in the
following areas of research:

     - Speech Recognition
     - Dialogue Systems
     - Speech Processing
     - Speech Synthesis
     - Speech Perception and Production
     - Dialogue Analysis
     - Speech Analysis

    Different companies will be present in the meeting: Telefonica R+D,
Philips Speech Processing, Infospeech and IBM. They have sent
researchers who will share their experience in the field of speech
applications with the rest of researchers and attendants in different
lectures and presentations.
