The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at The University
of Memphis invites applicants for two tenure-track Assistant Professor
of Spanish positions starting August 2012. <br /><br />1. Assistant
Professor of Spanish: Tenure-track position beginning August, 2012.
<br />Ph.D. in Spanish in hand by time of appointment. Specialist in
Applied Linguistics. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and
English required. Position requires ability to train and coordinate
teaching assistants as well as potential secondary teachers, and to
develop learning methodologies and technology. Strong research output
in the field and excellence in teaching as demonstrated by student and
supervisor evaluations. Duties will include teaching language and
linguistics courses at all levels both in the undergraduate and
graduate programs. Applicants must upload a cover letter indicating
their teaching skills/philosophy, current CV, unofficial transcript,

the undergraduate level (business, legal, and medical fields). Strong

graduate programs. Ability to teach translation courses a plus.
