/><b>Descripción</b><br /><p>The 31st International Conference on
Lexis and Grammar welcomes innovative papers on formal description of
languages, as well as on the construction, management and use of
language resources, including manually constructed lexicons and
grammars. In addition, it aims at bringing together linguists and
computer scientists.<br />The conference will include a general and a
thematic session.<br />The thematic session of the 31st International
Conference on Lexis and Grammar is dedicated to Adverbial complements.
Despite a number of studies (for example, Alexiadou 2004, Bonami et
al. 2003, Cinque 1999, Charolles 2003, Gezundhajt 2000, Gross 1990,
Guimier 1993 and 1996, Molinier et Levrier 2000, Mørdrup 1976,
Nøjgaard 1992), this heterogeneous class continues to raise problems
which are not only theoretical but have also effects on linguistic
applications. The subject domain includes:<br /><br />Morphological
and lexical analisys:<br /><br /> identification, description and
classification of those categories likely to assume an adverbial
function (adverbs, noun phrases, prepositional phrases, subordinate
clauses, etc.)<br /> simple adverbs vs. multi-word expressions
functioning as adverbs (frozen adverbials)<br /> construction of
taxonomic or specialized resources<br /><br />Syntactic analysis:<br
/><br /> adverbials syntactic positions inside sentences<br />
attachment problems (e.g., phrasal adverbs vs. adverbial
complements)<br /> adverbials modifying noun phrases (e.g.,
yesterday's meeting, people from here)<br /><br />Semantic and
pragmatic analysis:<br /><br /> semantic functions of adverbials
(temporal, aspectual, locative, quantitative, modal, appreciative…,
etc.)<br /> adverbials and quantifiers<br /> evaluative
adverbials (e.g., fortunately, he left)<br /> discursive functions
of adverbials (framing, topical, conjunctive, etc.)<br /> scope of
adverbials<br /> disambiguation adverbials<br /><br />The general
session is dedicated to the traditional topics of the conference:<br
/><br /> predicate-argument structures<br /> interface between
lexis and grammar<br /> exploitation of language resources
(including manually constructed lexicons and grammars) for language
processing (including information retrieval, information extraction,
parsing)<br /> language resources concerning lexis or grammar.<br
