/><b>Descripción</b><br /><p> Strengthening Cultural Bridges is
a professional seminar intended for all high school and
college/university professors of Spanish. The five modules of this
seminar span a continuum from the applied theoretical, from empirical
research to teacher training, and address a wide spectrum of key and
pragmatic issues in the field of teaching methodology and second
language acquisition. Innovative and up-to-date pedagogical approaches
that help to develop better teaching and language skills assisted by
modern technology for foreign language teaching purposes will be
analyzed. Participants will also engage in pressing debates about the
importance of bilingual education with special emphasis on its history
(from past to present) in the US educational system. In line with the
ACTFL National Standards, all modules will be conducted by specialized
professors from the local universities in Spain and the US.<br /> <br
/>Program Inclusions:<br />- Lectures with foreign language
acquisition specialists<br />- 65 total hours of professional
development<br />- Cultural activities and tours around Seville<br />-
Day trips to Córdoba and La Rábida Monastery<br />- Visit to local
bilingual school<br />- Flamenco show<br />- Lodging in a four-star,
centrally located hotel with daily breakfast<br />- Farewell dinner
and meals as indicated on the itinerary</p><br /><b>Área
