/><b>Descripción</b><br /><p>Over the last decade, research on
language teaching/learning has enjoyed an outstanding proliferation of
technological applications that have redefined the field of language
education, particularly in distance, blended and non-formal
environments. In this context, TISLID’14 promises to be an
interesting opportunity to meet and mix with fellow researchers in the
active and constantly changing field of technological innovation for
language education/processing. <br /><br />TISLID’14 will be hosted
by the ATLAS research group (<a href="http://atlas.uned.es"
target="_blank">http://atlas.uned.es</a>) at the University of
Salamanca’s campus in Ávila (Spain), 7th – 9th May 2014. This
event will include keynotes, workshops, paper presentations, posters
and roundtable debates, including a EUROCALL Special Interest Group
(SIG) session on MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning). The
following experts have confirmed their participation as keynote
speakers:<br /> <br />• Jozef Colpaert (Universiteit Antwerpen,
Belgium) – Designing for personalization and contextualization<br
/>• Gavin Dudeney (The Consultants-E, Weymouth, Dorset, United
Kingdom) – Digital Literacies: Teachers & Learners<br />• John
Traxler (University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom) - Language,
Literacy and Mobiles<br /><br />The following experts will run
workshops on a number of relevant topics:<br /><br />• Mª Dolores
Castrillo (UNED, Madrid, Spain) & Jorge Arús (Complutense University
of Madrid, Spain) – Building a MOOC for language learning: a
research-oriented workshop<br />• Nicky Hockly (The Consultants-E,
Weymouth, Dorset, United Kingdom) – Teaching with mobile devices:
choices and challenges<br />• Isabel Pérez (Consejería de
Educación de Andalucía, Spain) – Designing CLIL materials using
open educational resources and ICT tools<br />• Stravroula Sokoli
(Hellenic Open University, Patrai, Greece) – Audiovisual Translation
for Foreign Language Learning: new multimodal resources<br /><br />The
organisers welcome the submission of research papers/posters dealing
with technology-supported LSP (Language for Specific Purposes),
teaching/learning and processing. Topics relevant to TISLID14 include
(but are not limited to):<br /><br />• Mobile Assisted Language
Learning (MALL)<br />• New Trends: Ubiquity, Gamification, etc.<br
/>• Interaction design, Usability and Accessibility<br
/>• Language Massive Open Online Courses (LMOOCs)<br />• Open
Courseware (OCW) / Open Educational Resources (OERs) for Languages<br
/>• E-learning and Languages in Primary/Secondary/Tertiary
Education<br />• Computerised Language Testing and Assessment<br
/>• ICTs for Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)<br
/>• Distance and Lifelong Language Teaching/Learning <br />• ICTs
and Languages for Specific Purposes (LSPs)<br />• Computational
Linguistics and Corpora<br />• Technological Innovation in
Terminology and Translation<br />• Audiovisual Translation<br /><br
/>Researchers interested in submitting a paper/poster should send a
300-500 word abstract (with key references) in electronic format by
December 15th (following the steps outlined in the conference website,
at <a href="http://www.tislid14.es/abstracts"
target="_blank">http://www.tislid14.es/abstracts</a>). All proposals
will be subject to a double-peer blind review process. Acceptance will
be confirmed by January 31st.<br /><br />All accepted abstracts will
be published in the conference electronic proceedings (provided that
their author/s send a 2500-3000 version of the paper within the
deadline, which will be announced in due time). In addition, a
selection of the best papers will be published as a separate research
book with an international publisher. The authors in question will be
required to submit an extended version of their paper (5000-7000
words) after the conference.<br /><br />A ‘Best Research Paper
Award’ will be given for the most significant contribution to the
conference. Members of the Scientific and Organising Committee are
excluded and the winner will be announced at the end of
TISLID’14.<br /><br />Important dates:<br /><br />• Abstract
submission deadline: December 15, 2013.<br />• Paper acceptance
notification: January 31, 2014.<br />• Early Bird Registration:
March 31, 2014.<br />• Full paper submission (proceedings): April
21, 2014.<br />• Conference dates: May 7-9, 2014.<br /><br />For
