/><p> Los caminos que se recorren en esta obra son diversos, pero
siempre convergen en conceptos centrales de la experiencia
universitaria en un país (Colombia), que se ha reconocido como
multicultural y plurilingüe. Los núcleos conceptuales de las
reflexiones aquí incluidas tienen que ver con la interculturalidad y
su ejercicio en los espacios académicos universitarios; los conceptos
de inclusión y exclusión, que en su expresión cotidiana afectan
poderosamente la existencia de estudiantes universitarios
pertenecientes a minorías étnicas; el bilingüismo, como un concepto
que en nuestro país debe reelaborarse teniendo en cuenta las lenguas
de los grupos indígenas y afrocolombianos y, particularmente, la
necesidad de establecer en las universidades una real coherencia entre
lo que como instituciones declaran en relación con estos temas y lo
que en la práctica se evidencia.<br /><br />En este libro se
presentan algunas preocupaciones fundamentales como son la situación
de las minorías étnicas en Colombia y en América Latina, la
interculturalidad, la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de lenguas, la
escritura académica y las políticas del Estado y de las
instituciones universitarias sobre estos temas.</p><br
