Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of
Tennessee is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in
Spanish Applied Linguistics (Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis,
Dialectology, FL Assessment or a related field) at the rank of
assistant professor, to begin fall 2015. Ph.D. required (or ABD with
promise of completion by August 2015), with native or near-native
fluency in Spanish and English essential. Demonstrated research
excellence or promise of research and excellence in teaching are
expected. Duties include directing first-year Spanish program, and
teaching upper-division Spanish, linguistics and graduate courses in
area of specialization, including a teaching methods course shared on
a rotating basis. Salary competitive. Review of applicants will begin
November 1, 2014, and continue until the position is filled. The
Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates
