BTW, the Salishan languages (of the Pacific NW in the US) are (in)famous for
having words made up entirely of consonants.  Here's a ref:

Bagemihl, Bruce. 1991. "Syllable Structure in Bella Coola". Linguistic
Inquiry 22:589-646.

--although this was more about phonological issues than about the phonetic
data.
