[Lexicog] Fw: Polysemy

This message, sent last night, has not yet been posted. Perhaps there are
some continuing difficulties with the YahooGroups listserver. In any case,
here is another attempt to post the message:

Rusmadi,

Polysemy would be a good topic for this list. In the software (Shoebox) I
use for my dictionary database, we can easily put in fields for different
senses of a word. I suspect, however, from your comments that your interest
in polysemy is more theoretical, so please tell us more about your concerns.
For instance, would you like some discussion about ways to decide if a
meaning is a different sense of the same word (i.e., polysemy) or whether
different meanings seem so different that the words should be considered
homonyms?
