Well, Urdu is neither Farsi nor Arabic, but something rather different,
although closer to Farsi. There are some additional significant
differences in Urdu, which are well described in the article you mentioned:

This seems very clear and useful - although it doesn't deal with
languages other than the big three and a few variants. I understand that
there are some additional complications e.g. in Sindhi where I think two
forms of kaf are used contrastively, rather like the two forms of yeh in
Urdu.
