Chaz,

Do you mean wood as "forest" or "the material that forms trees"?
(On another note: So the Emberas do not have the problem of not
 seeing the wood for trees? ;-)

It's not a lack of lexicalization, but it has always struck me as odd that
the Emberas, who live in the jungle, don't differentiate between "tree" and
"wood".
