I believe that the "English word which refers to .
. . a list of medical symptoms group[ed] together
so that a specific diagnosis is quite likely" that
is used when no clear causative agent/cy has been
identified is "syndrome" (etymologically, a group
of things that run = occur together), one of the
words you considered and rejected.  Interestingly,
the "syndrome" term stays on long after the cause
of the "syndrome" is identified; the causative
agents of, e.g., Reye's Syndrome and Acquired
Imunodeficiency Syndrome are known.
