Wayne:
Last year about this time, someone was addressing language change via their
experience with an indigenous language of the Phillapines. He/she had an
attachment or perhaps a website with a narrative that spoke of their
earliest experience with the language while the community yet remained in a
traditional cultural setting. They went on how 30 yrs or so later, and with
a new generation influenced by Tagalog and another language of settlers, I
believe, had dramatically altered the understanding of the younger
generation, so much so, that the present generation speaking the native
language vertually could not understand the recored oral literature of their
grandfathers' generation.

I tried to go into the Lexicog Archives to retrieve this particular study,
and I became totally frustrated in doing so, with no results. I qued for
Phillapine with variations to no avail. Can you assist in locating this
narrative.
