[Lexicog] Unusual problem with images included in Shoebox dictionary

Last week I saw an unusual problem with image files listed in a Shoebox
dictionary, that were supposed to be included in the document after
exporting to Word via MDF and running "Finish Exporting from Shoebox." The
user had JPEG image files and this was working fine. Then his publisher
wanted him to convert his JPEG files to CMYB (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black)
mode, which he did in Adobe Photoshop. But then the image files no longer
appeared in the Word document after running "Finish exporting from
Shoebox". I had never heard of CMYB mode, but it is an option for JPEG
files that is possible in Photoshop. If you haven't heard of these before
(like I hadn't), these are still JPEG files, but somehow transformed into a
four color system like printing presses use rather than the three color RGB
(Red, Green, Blue) that computer screens use.

We discovered the limitation was with Word-- if I manually inserted one of
these images into a Word document, it also was invisible. The user had Word
97. I don't know if there was some graphics filters missing in the word
installation. We did discover that if he switched the image files to CMYB
and then saved them in TIFF format, the images did appear when importing
into Word.
