[Lexicog] Semantics of verbs

Two books I have found useful in helping to understand the meanings of verbs
are

Beth Levin (1993) English Verb Classes and Alternations. University of
Chicago Press.
James Pustejovsky (1998) The Generative Lexicon. The MIT Press.

Also Goddard (1998) has a useful section entitled "How to know whether
you're coming or going."

Cliff Goddard (1998) Semantic Analysis. A Practical Introduction. Oxford
University Press.
