[Lexicog] Re: Bai variant words

My suggestion would be to avoid privileging one form over another if
possible, by cross-listing and using an indication after each form as to
where it is found. An American dictionary listing only _color_ and merely
indicating "also _colour_ (Brit.)" implicitly privileges _color_ for the
user (native or non-native). Dual entries, such as

	color (Am.) = colour (Brit.)

	colour (Brit.) = color (Am.)

levels the field, and avoids having the lexicographer play God (or the
State) with regard to imposing standardization. Americans and Brits get
along fine with such alternants as "lift/elevator", and Yankees and
Southerners with "wish bone/pulley bone", so there is no need to rush to
judgment as to which should be "standard", making all others
"nonstandard".
