it is good to keep in mind that honorifics also apply to the deceased.  
for example, among Sahaptin (Sahaptian) and Nez Perce (Sahaptian) 
speakers of the interior Pacific NW an honorific is often heard before 
a name identifying a deceased individual.  such as: "átway [name of 
deceased individual]".
