[Lexicog] Words that are absent in particular languages

 I  just remembered that we had a similar subject stimulated by the
moderator
of this list Wayne Leman under the subject "lacuna" or "lexical gap" a
couple of years ago.
I personally don't know how to retrieve those messages as I don't remember
the
exact subject line but Wayne can certainly help.

I  know of no good equivalent of German "Gemütlichkeit" in other languages.
"bonne ambiance" is a paraphrase in French. That is probably why there
is this song in American English "I like gemutlichkeit, Munchner beer,
octoberfest". It does not have to be associated with drinking beer, 
but it conveys the idea that everybody is having a good time
together. 
Anna Wierzbicka has  written an interesting book: 
Understanding Cultures through Their Key Words: English, Russian, Polish,
German, and Japanese 
(New York: Oxford University Press, 1997. 318 pp. )

HI I'm researching words which some languages omit. I'm trying to 
build up some examples. I believe, for instance, that in Swedish there 
is no direct counterpart for 'mind'.
If anyone has any examples I'd be delighted to hear them.
