[Lexicog] Re: The irony of thou

French speakers of my parents' generation behave like 
northern Germans, but I have noticed that people my age
and younger seem to switch to tu almost immediately or
even to use it from the outset. I'm a very informal
person, yet I have to admit that I don't like this.
It just feels funny to use tu with someone I have only
just met.
