[Lexicog] Reduplication

I think the original poster was referring more to repetition than to 
what a morphologist would call reduplication.  That said, it's not 
clear where the boundary between these is (or whether there is a 
boundary).  There are some articles in

   Hurch, Bernhard. 2005. Studies on Reduplication. Empirical
   Approaches to Language Typology 28.  Berlin: Mouton de Gruyter.

which talk about this (possible) distinction, e.g. David Gil "From 
repetition to reduplication in Riau Indonesian", Sharon Inkelas 
"Morphological Doubling Theory", Elinor Keane "Phrasal reduplication 
and dual description", and Utz Maas "Syntactic reduplication in 
Arabic."  And at the other end (the possible boundary between 
reduplication and phonological processes of gemination, particularly in 
Semitic), Dina El Zarka "On the borderline of reduplication."
