Our dictionaries (word and morpheme), under construction, are automatically
generated from our texts, together with all grammatical information, example
sentences and concordance.  What we intend to do, when all data is in and
parsed, is to go back to the old dictionaries (not much, just one of any
substance, all loaded with very bad errors) and go through them JIC there
are words there that we have not included.  We then intend to have  a list
of Œsources¹ which will include the names of all authors/speakers of texts
as well as of any printed materials from which we are inspired to go check
on a word (nothing will be added w/o double checking with native speakers).
Because the earlier materials are written in a non-phonemic script (i.e.,
one for Spanish speakers), nothing will be taken directly but used as a
source.  I believe this is fully compliant with Œfair use¹ as well as
ethical field methods.

On the other hand, a student of mine working on reawakening a sleeping
language of Taiwan, must perforce use dictionaries of the 17th century and
of related languages.  In all cases he is citing sources as he redoes the
material for modern use.  I am sending him a copy of this thread JIC.
