[Lexicog] Re: lexical relation for boar - sow?

As the old song says, "Love & marriage...go together like a horse & carriage".
Probably the last pair wouldn't spring to mind nowadays for most people,
showing that like the 'salt & pepper' example, these complementary pair sets
can be culturally determined.

The discussion reminded me of the lovely circularity used in the older
Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary (I think it was 8th edition and
probably previous) definitions of 'bull' and 'cow':

  Bull: the male of a species the female of which is a cow

  Cow: the female of a species the male of which is a bull
