Hi, Paul. I've not used FLEx, so am not familiar with its
constraints. Can you create your own "paired" sets?<br>
<br>
If so, how about considering /madali/ as "state" or "circumstance", and
/sororo/ as "result" or "outcome"? That is, given a /madali/ state of
affairs, one likely "outcome" is /sororo/. (I would understand
"process/result" to be for something more like English <i>refine</i>
(process) and <i>gasoline</i> (result). But /madali/ doesn't appear
to refer to a process (i.e., it wouldn't mean 's.t. BECOMES slippery',
right?), so "process/result" doesn't seem to fit very well. But if the
software allows some flexibility, I'd be inclined to use
"process/result" for pairs that are more like:<br>
's.t. becomes slippery'<br>
's.o. slips'<br>
<br>
and use "state/outcome" for pairs that are more like:<br>
's.t. is slippery'<br>
's.o. slips'<br>
<br>
(By the way, if the software will allow you to create your own sets of
lexical relations, you will want to be sure to keep a list somewhere of
all the relation labels that you use, with illustrative examples.)<br>

I'm using FLEx which provides "paired" sets of:
instrument / action
process / result
undergoer / verb
but none of these quite seem to fit. There is the rather generic Counterpart relation, but this seems more specific than that. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks,
Paul
